Joyce A. Nimocks

Joyce Ann Nimocks, 57, the heart and soul of our family, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital after a long courageous battle against lung cancer.

Joyce was born Nov. 25, 1965, in Cumberland, Maryland, to Ronald and Betty (Crawford) Green. She attended Tiffin Columbian High School and later received her GED. Joyce married Joseph Rochester in 1982 and they later divorced. She found the love of her life, her "daddyo," Dirk Nimocks, in 1997. They were married Oct. 20, 2007, and he survives at home in Tiffin.

Joyce was a hardworking woman and devoted over 34 years to Fry Foods, Tiffin. She was the mom that friends growing up called "mom." She would treat her children's friends as if they were her own. Joyce enjoyed many hobbies in her free time, including demolition derbies, Cleveland Indians games, bowling, and shopping just to name a few, but those just scratched the surface of this amazing woman. Her most enjoyable times were spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. The surprise pop over's from her kids and weekends slumber parties with her grandkids were amongst her favorites. She was also the event planner, coordinating every family gathering and making sure it was perfect.

She is survived by her husband, Dirk; in-laws, George and Barb Nimocks of Texas; three siblings, Mark (Elrem) Green of Allen, Texas, Timothy Green of Tiffin, and Melissa Green of Findlay; five amazing children, Bradlee (Kristine) Rochester of Tiffin, Brittney Rochester of Tiffin, Breanna (Wayne Burns) Rochester of Tiffin, Paige (Ben) Hart of Leipsic, and Lacy (Ryan) Rathburn of Tiffin; fur baby, Remi; her 14 most prized possessions, her grandchildren, Alexzander, Brookelynne, Cayden, Anthony, Adeline, Aliyana, Peyton, Bentlee, Austin, Meghan, Braelynn, Hunter, Tyson, and Garrett; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and two infant daughters, Carrie and Stephanie Rochester.

She was our "mommyo," mom, and mawmaw. She will forever be held deeply in our hearts. Life will never be the same without her gracious candor and beautiful smile.

Joyce's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. There will be no burial at this time.
