Joyce E. Runion

Joyce E. Runion, 90, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born May 31, 1933, in Bloomville, to Chester and Mabel (Schiley) Lofton. She married Richard Runion on April 14, 1951, and he preceded her in death May 30, 2002.

She is survived by her sons, Gary E. (Brenda) Runion of Tiffin, Chester (Lori) Runion of Bedford, Kentucky, and Tim (Sherry) Runion of Tiffin; daughters, Tina (William) Mizen of Tiffin and Tara (Travis Chaffee) Runion of Republic; daughter-in-law, Linda Runion of Tiffin; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard A. Runion; daughter, Marilyn Kidwell; brothers, Dalton, Mervin, Charles, and Ray; and sisters, Mary Louise Fitch and Clara Cantrell.

Joyce babysat for many years and worked at Circle K at Sixes Corner for 18 years, retiring when she was in her 80s. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bowling, reading, and was finally able to relax once she was retired.

Joyce's funeral will be 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Charlene Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
