Juan Ricardo Herevia, 57, of Walla Walla, Washington, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2025. Juan was born in Brownsville, Texas, on August 15, 1967, to Trinidad and Monica Herevia. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. Familia was the primary component in Juan’s life, keeping close ties with his siblings throughout his lifetime.
In 1986, Juan met his life partner Lidia Ramirez and her son Jorge Ramirez Jr. Together, they grew their family with two children, Noemi Herevia and JuanCarlos Herevia.
Juan was a man full of life and laughter. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, cruising to music, grilling on the barbecue, and, of course, you couldn’t keep him off the dance floor. He had a hunger for life and living each day to the fullest. Juan’s greatest joy and honor was being a grandpa to Audrina, Isabella, and Zaylia. On a typical weekend, you could find him at his granddaughter’s soccer games, taking them to the park, or jamming out to music at home. He instilled great character and values into his children and grandchildren. He taught them to be strong, nonjudgmental, and to stand up for themselves. Juan had a special bond with his only daughter, Noemi. They shared the same humor, love for music, and care for others. They were not only father and daughter but best friends. His laughter still lingers in our hearts and will forever be a memento of his time with us, and the absence that his passing brings.
Juan was preceded in death by his (parents) Trinidad and Monica Herevia, (brother) Fidel Herevia, and (sisters) Julia and Pita. He is survived by (life partner) Lidia Ramirez, (son) Jorge Ramirez Jr, (daughter) Noemi Herevia, (son) JuanCarlos Herevia, (granddaughters) Audrina, Isabella, and Zaylia, (sisters) Melda, Maria, Martina, and Taty, (brother’s) Beto and Trino. He was “Tio Juan” to many nieces/nephews and “Juanon” to his friends, a grand of a man who was respected and loved very much.
Save us a spot on the dance floor until we meet again.
A funeral service was held on January 25, 2025, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
