Judith Hampton Obituary

Judith Y. (Marshall) Hampton

Judith Y. (Marshall) Hampton 78, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at ProMedica Fostoria Hospital. "Judy" was born March 12, 1947, in Fostoria,to the late Roscoe E. and Margaret G. (Selden) Marshall.

She was a lifelong resident of Fostoria and attended Fostoria High School. She married Donald Hampton Sr. of Willard, January 30, 1965, in Fostoria, with the late Rev. Kenneth C. Marsenburg officiating. To this union, Don and Judy welcomed three children, a daughter, Cheryl Lynn; and sons, Donald Jr. and Aaron Christopher.

Mrs. Hampton worked at Honeywell for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fostoria, where she regularly sang in the choir and participated in numerous boards and committees.

Judy was known for her love of Bingo and seldom passed up an opportunity to go to the casino to play her favorite penny slot machines. However, what she was best known for was her radiant smile, warm heart, soft voice, kind words, deep faith and strong belief in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Most of all, she will be remembered for her unbounded and immeasurable love for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her heart, and she took every opportunity to constantly remind them of her inexhaustible love for them. She was a great cook and took pride in preparing Sunday dinners for her extended family, just to have the opportunity to see them all together. She was the quintessential wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Remaining to cherish Judy's memory are her husband of 60 years, Donald Hampton Sr; children, Cheryl L. (Gene) Keels, Donald Hampton Jr., and Aaron C. Hampton, all of Fostoria; grandchildren, Genee R. Williams, Zachary A. (Alicia) Keels, Ayako N. (Nicholas) Yunker, Christopher O. Hampton, Dante J. Hampton, Taryn D. Hampton, and Nolan E. Hampton; great-grandchildren, Javan Bryant, Deavonte "DJ" Williams Jr., Xavier Moore-Williams, Zachary Keels Jr., and Octavia R. Keels; her beloved nephew, James K. Martin; along with a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; along with sister, Beverly J. Baker; and brothe,r Dennis R. Marshall.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Monday July 14, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church with funeral services directly following, with the Rev. Jerry L. Copeland officiating. Interment will be at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Farewell Judy! Haven't seen you for awhile but always hold memories of you bowling and then would see you playing bingo too. A very sweet lady and always a smile on her face when I would meet up with her. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with Judy's family. Crystal Macias

Awe, so very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Judy was always so fun and pleasant. I initially met Judy while bowling but then also saw her at bingo. Will miss running into her occasionally as age does that to all of us. Smiling and kind is how I will remember her.
