Kate Miller Obituary

Kate E. Miller

Kate E. Miller of Florence, Kentucky passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1982, in Tiffin to Jan and Gary Miller of Fostoria and Charleston, South Carolina.

She leaves behind a very heartbroken and loving family and many friends who are left to cherish many good memories of her. These include life partner, Brandon Sagastegui; beloved son and mommy's special angel, Crew Sagastegui; parents, Jan and Gary Miller; sister, Merilee (Ryan) Freshour; special nephew and niece, Dawson and Evelyn Bo Freshour; Brandon's parents, Jana and Ricardo Sagastegui; Brandon's children, Violet and Leo Sagastegui; Brandon's siblings, Austin, Richard Grant, Preston, and Kristin; aunts and uncles, Bobbye and John Haughawout and Nancy and Mike Lucius; uncles, Brian Miller and Mark Howett; grandmother, Betty Miller; and cousins, Toni (Brian) Radzilowski, Zachary (Carrie) Haughawout, Ethan (Emily) Haughawout, Todd (Sarah) Lucius, Ryan (Jessica) Lucius, Mackenzie Douglas, Kent (Alexandria) Miller, and Hannah, Alan, and Royce Howett.

She was preceded by grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Howett; grandfather, Kenneth Miller; aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Anthony Howett; uncle, Dean Miller; and cousins, Chad Howett and Meredith Lucius.

Katie was a 2001 Fostoria High School graduate where she was a cheerleader and served on student council. She then graduated from University of Kentucky in 2005 and was a loyal and vocal member of Big Blue Nation. She was a Senior Executive Recruiter for Alexander Mann Solutions.

Growing up, Katie became an accomplished ballerina. Later, she became involved in Fostoria's YMCA and served on their board of directors before moving to Kentucky. She was a very loving, caring, and compassionate mother, partner, daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and aunt.

Sadly, she leaves behind Brandon and her son, Crew, who she absolutely adored and loved with all her heart every waking moment. Those who followed Katie on Facebook can easily attest to that. She also shared a very special and enduring bond with her Nana, Betty Miller.

Shortly after Crew was born, Katie and Brandon started a college education fund for him. In lieu of flowers, we know Katie would be extremely grateful for any contributions to this fund if you are so inclined by mailing your contribution to fund administrator Gary Miller, 244 Rock St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, 301 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio. Kate's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Aaron Gerlach officiating.
