Katie was the wife of my boss, Nick Bloom, when I worked at the Post Office in Fort Wayne. What a wonderful family! We used to visit in their home on Florida Dr and later when they moved and Nick was still with us. Katie took me to the crypt where Nick was and what a wonderful experience. She was truly a remarkable woman and role model.

Katie was a good friend of Jim´s mom, Sabina Sabo. They enjoyed spending time together and with a couple of other pals too.
I remember Katie as my troop leader at St Jude´s. She was awesome! She was very creative, kind, giving, quick to smile and helped all of us achieve the badges we wanted. As I grew older I saw her around town occasionally and she always remembered me.
Jim and I have spoken of her through the years with great memories and both remember her as a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul. She lived life well and faced difficulties with grace. Rest in peace Katie.

I was so sorry to hear about Katie's passing and my very deepest sympathy and compassion goes to her children and family. I've been privileged to know Katie since the early 1960's as we were near neighbors on Florida Drive and she and my Mother were dear friends. Over the years Katie's friendship extended to me as an adult and I will always remember her support when my own parents died. She was one of the most caring individuals I have ever known, even through many heartaches of her own. I've been grateful for our continuing friendship over these many years which included a sisterhood in the DAR and an abiding interest in genealogy. It was truly a gift to anyone who knew Katie that she was with us for 95 years. Sincerely, Susan Morris McGee

Gosh I wrote a whole memory and it got lost I think. But Mary and Bob and I all graduated in 1982 from Dwenger. One of the places I believe our moms met. Also St. Judes and Dwenger school carnivals before Saints Alive. Then even better acquainted through Girl Scouts which was unending for years and years. Then they both did sororities but different chapters. Plus Settlers group from the Swinney homestead, they worked the Johnney Appleseed Festival together through Settlers. They were very very great friends. Katie you will be very missed God rest your very tired soul . You were an awesome friend !!!!! Cheryl Cameron Brownfield.

Janet,
When we were at St. Jude's together I recall your mom as being a real "presence". I remember that she was a Girl Scout leader though she wasn't mine. However, I do recall that she was an involved parent. I always thought that she was beautiful and carried herself elegantly.

We were so blessed to have Katie in our lives through our St Jude years, but more importantly at St Anne´s. She was an angel and good dear friend to our mom Clancy Quigley. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mom with so many over the years. Please know the Quigley family will hold your family and Katie in our hearts and prayers.

Katie was very special to me and others in the Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter NSDAR and to those of us who worked with her at Parkview. I wish to express my deepest condolences to your family on your loss and ours. Peace!
