Kay Ellen Miller

Kay Ellen Miller, 91, of Republic, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at her residence.

Kay was born in Tiffin Sept. 1, 1933, to the late Vincent William and Marie (Price) Fries. She married Edgar Albright Miller at Republic United Methodist Church April 20, 1952, and he preceded her in death Nov. 6, 2016.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Tom) Reinhart of Tiffin, Kimberly (Don) Thompson of Republic and David (Beth) Miller of Republic; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Nelson (Debbie) Wright of Green Springs.

Kay was a wife and homemaker who loved history. She was a member of Republic United Church of Christ and a graduate of Republic High School. In her younger years, Kay was very involved with Eastern Stars and worked through the chairs. She was a genealogist, card player and an avid reader. She was a member of Republic Historical Society and West Lodi Historical Society. Most of all, Kay enjoyed visits with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Robert Price Fries.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Willows at Tiffin for their great care to Kay during her stay.

Funeral services for Kay will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Republic United Church of Christ with Pastor Darla Metz officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the church. Burial will follow the services at Block Cemetery. Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Republic Fire Department, Republic Historical Society or Bridge Hospice.
