Kenneth J. Estep

Kenneth J. "Kenny" Estep, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at The Willows of Tiffin.

Kenny was born June 10, 1937, in Tiffin, to John Kenneth and Evelyn Dorothy (Kiesel) Estep. He married Marietta (Miller) on Dec. 23, 1972, in Tiffin, and she survives in Tiffin.

Kenny's other survivors include Marietta's loving family; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenny was a family farmer all of his life. He was a 1955 Old Fort High School graduate. Kenny obtained his pilot's license and enjoyed flying and working on planes. In 1956, he enlisted in U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of CW4 Commission to Warrant Officer. After leaving the Army, he went into their Reserve program where he was part of the Tiffin and Fremont Units as well as the Toledo USAR School #2087. He continued working for the Army well into his late 70s.

Kenny was very involved with his community. He was a Seneca County Commissioner, where he helped design and build the Seneca Jail, Crosswaeh, Washington Street, Market Street, Perry Street Bridges, and the Old Fort Bridge being one of his favorites. He was a Clinton Township Trustee, Clinton Township Volunteer Fireman, and was the last original member of the fire department. He was on Board of Directors at Tiffin Farmers Co-Op where he physically helped build the elevator and was one of the original founding members of Morrison Lake. He was involved with Masonic Lodge, Union Grange, Boy Scouts Executive Board, Izaak Walton League, Scottish Rite & Shrine, Seneca County Farm Bureau, and Reserve Officers Association. Recently, he became an honorary member of Seneca County Trustee's and Clerk's Association.

Kenny's funeral will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department.
