Kenneth "Ken" Hohman
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Kenneth "Ken" Hohman, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was born March 4, 1945, in Tiffin, the son of the late Ernest J. and Zita I. (Scherger) Hohman. On July 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Martha E. Keefe, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Marty; and their four daughters, Deborah Hohman Swartz of Seminole, Florida, Karen Hohman (Jesse Rios) of Tampa, Florida, Lori (Mike) Klem of Thompson, and Lisa (Jeff) Smith of Perrysburg. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to seven grandchildren, Caleb and Mylee Klem, Kendall and Devon Swartz, and Parker, Dugan, and Keaton Smith. Ken is also survived by his siblings, Betty Lou Piotrowski of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Marvin R. (Sharon) Hohman of New Riegel, Lunnette R. (Michael) Frase of New Riegel, Rosalie Distel of Tiffin and John Hohman of Fostoria.
Ken graduated from New Riegel High School and went on to earn his degree from The Ohio State University. He proudly served his country in the US Army and spent many dedicated years as a manager at Countyline Co-Op. A man of faith, Ken was a lifelong member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Ken will always be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He loved fishing with his grandkids, golfing, playing bridge with friends, cheering on his Buckeyes, watching Cleveland Indians games with Marty, and traveling to attend his grandchildren in their many activities, from sports to theater to art shows. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending quiet moments with Marty watching birds out their slider while enjoying their favorite shows. His daughters cherish memories of playing cards while singing to John Denver, playing catch and shooting hoops with him, all moments that reflected his calm and joyful spirit.
Above all, Ken's life was defined by his love for family and the example he set as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
