Lana Jean Cress, 82, of Fremont, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Bethesda Care Center, surrounded by her family. Lana was born September 29, 1943, to Robert Moore and Ardethe (Bowersox) Baumer in Fremont. She was a 1961 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School. She married Gary Cress, April of 1981, in Fremont.
Lana was a waitress for over 30 years, working for Holiday Inn and Denny's in Fremont, as well as several other businesses. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, casinos and cats. Lana loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lana enjoyed her early morning tea every day.
Lana is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary Cress of Fremont; children, Jeff (Gina) Weber, Tiffin, Scott (Toni) Weber, Northwood, David Weber, Fremont, Steve Culbert, Port Clinton, and Philip Cress, Columbus; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Moore.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
This service will be informal, and the family would love for everyone to bring their favorite stories of Lana to share.
Memorials can be made in her honor to Humane Society of Sandusky County.
