Lawrence L. Elchert "Larry"

Lawrence L. "Larry" Elchert, 90, of Burgoon, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.

He was born May 24, 1934, at home in Old Fort to the late Lawrence and Mildred (Feasel) Elchert. He married Virginia Mae DeGalan on August 20, 1971, and she preceded her in death August 27, 2022.

Surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann Elchert, Fremont; brother, Troy Elchert, Hillsboro; and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Marvin, Arvine, David, Linda, and Margaret.

Larry was a volunteer at Kansas Fire Department and served 10 years with the National Guard in the 148th Infantry Division. He worked at Fremont Kraut, JB Tomatoes in Oak Harbor, and the Sugar Beet Factory. He also operated a pony and kiddy ride business with his father for many years and enjoyed attending craft shows and flea markets.

Visitation is Noon-1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Following visitation, there will be informal sharing of memories.
