Leighton L. Stahl

Leighton L. Stahl, 90, of Kansas, Ohio, went home to His Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

He was born Dec. 9, 1932, to Erlin and LaVon (Kissling) Stahl. He married Margrete (Stump) Stahl on June 1, 1951, at the Church of God in Findlay and she preceded him in death Jan. 18, 2018.

He is survived by a son, Gregory (Suzanne) Stahl of Kansas; daughter, Debra (Herbert) Adams of Bradner; foster daughter, Sharon (Fred) Linder of Lawrenceville, Georgia; foster sister, Sandra (Mike) Bauer of Shiloh; seven grandchildren, Matt Linder, Kelly (Craig) Taylor, David (Crissy) Stahl, Leighanne Stahl, Andrew (Christina) Adams, Mark (Ashley) Adams, and Stephen (Jolie) Adams; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four infant sons; wife of 67 years, Margrete; parents; brothers, Ralph and Paul Stahl; and sister, Dorothy Ridenour.

Leighton retired as a foreman after 25 years at General Electric Company in Tiffin. He was also engaged in farming for over 60 years. He was a former member of Canaan Church of God in Kansas where he served many years as clerk and treasurer, and more recently attended Word of Truth Christian Church in Bowling Green.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Leighton will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Hunt presiding. Burial will follow at Scott-Trinity Cemetery, Sandusky County. A funeral lunch will then take place at the funeral home.
