Loman Milliorn Obituary

On Tuesday, September 13, Loman D "Bud" Milliorn, passed away at the age of 86. He was born on June 16, 1936 in Oxford, Texas in rural Llano County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ovil D Milliorn and Ruby Odessa Garrett, stepfather Eugene C. Honeycutt, sister Beverly Milliorn Haynes, brother Bryan D Milliorn, and grandson William Thomas Milliorn.

After graduating Llano High School in 1954 Bud left home to pursue life outside of Llano, including serving his military obligation. However, in 1958 he would find himself back in Llano after a friend with the Texas Highway Department (TxDot) told him that there would soon be a job opening for a six-month internship with the TxDot Engineering Office in Llano. His internship would become a more than 34.5 year career with TxDot.

In 1960 Bud met Shirley Ann Hall and after a three month courtship they were married on August 6, 1960 and made their home in Burnet to raise their three boys.

Throughout Bud's life those who knew him were always welcomed with his smile and sense of humor. His kind and positive nature was a true gift to those around him. He understood the merit of passing on his knowledge to others, he was a teacher.

Bud was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his annual hunting trips to Colorado and catching catfish on a river bank. Bud's obsession may have been hunting and fishing, but his passion and love was his children, grandchildren, and family.

Survivors include wife Ann Milliorn of Burnet, sons Loman D Jr "Dee" (Donna) of Meadowlakes, Maury of Burnet, Evan (Allison) of Bertram, grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Krystal, Brigitte, Miles, Maura, Jack, Luke, and great-grandchildren Lillian, Genevieve, Karsyn, Kady, and Olivia.

His family would like to thank his caregivers with Altus Hospice.

Special Speaker: Krystal Milliorn Karmatz

" Bud" was always kind and gracious to friends and strangers alike. He cherished his time with family and all who entered his home were met with a warm hug or handshake. He had a quit wit and great sense of humor that kept you laughing. You could always count on "Bud" if you needed help with anything. We will cherish the memorIt´s.
