Prospect – Lucille Rose (Bonacassio) McEnerney, age 92, of Prospect passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Complete Care at Glendale Center in Naugatuck. She was the wife of the late John McEnerney.
Mrs. McEnerney was born September 29, 1933 in Waterbury daughter of the late Stella (Bonacassio) Fratti and step daughter of the late Quinto Fratti. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and also shopping and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect.
Mrs. McEnerney is survived by her children: Sharon Sagendorf and her husband Victor of Woodbury, John McEnerney of Austin, TX and Boston, MA and Steven McEnerney and his wife Diana of Lehigh Acres, FL, her daughter-in-law: Berta McEnerney of Prospect, her grandchildren: Kurt, Peyton, Marissa, Julian, Rebecca, Melissa and Brett and her great grandchildren: Amelia, Mila, Gatlin and Charlotte. She was predeceased by her son Gary McEnerney and her sister Catherine Guerrero.
Mrs. McEnerney's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, The Corona Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 72 Waterbury Road (Next to the Post Office) in Prospect. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 with the procession leaving from the funeral home at 10 a.m. for the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church 4 Union City Road in Prospect at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
