Lynn M. Ritzler

Lynn M. Ritzler, 65, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 10, 1957, in Fostoria, to Richard and Geraldine (Filliater) Canterbury.

She attended St. Wendelin schools, where she met her high school "friend," Jeff Ritzler, and the two were married June 10, 1983. Together, they raised their three children and she was a proud staple at baseball fields and in basketball gyms as she watched them grow. They spent their summers camping, taking road trips, and making enough memories to fill the many photo albums she kept.

Along with a career in the medical field, Lynn enjoyed a warm round of golf, an ice-cold beer, a good hand of cards, and traveling to the beach, where rumor has it, she would still complain that she was cold. In the summers, she could be found by the pool with her best friend, Becky, or in line at JB Twisters.

An amazing baker, she would never show up empty handed to any gathering without something sweet to add. She kept in close touch with former coworkers and especially her core group of friends and classmates from St. Wendelin and enjoyed their frequent gatherings.

In the last few years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. Nothing brought her more joy than being an "Amma" to the three little ones and filling the house with their laughter.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jeff; three children, Chad (Jessica) Ritzler of Hilliard, Courtney (Lia) Ritzler of Rocky River, and Carrie Ritzler of Hilliard; three grandchildren, Collins, Colby, and Mac; and brothers, Lyle (Kathy) Canterbury of Columbus, Indiana, Larry Canterbury of Fostoria, and Lee (Lisa) Canterbury of Hopewell, Virginia.

Memorial visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Lynn's memorial service will be 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer presiding.
