Marguertie O. Bernard

Miss Marguerite O. Bernard, 91, of Tiffin died at 1:38 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Elmwood at The Shawhan, Tiffin. She was born July 25, 1933, in Tiffin, to Joseph A. and Alexandrine M. (Giraudeau) Bernard.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, as well as her cousins, and was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert J. Bernard and Robert E. Bernard.

Marguerite attended St. Mary's Elementary, was a 1951 graduate of Calvert High School, and was a 1995 graduate of Heidelberg University.

She served as the Seneca County Treasurer from 1979 - 2009 and she previously worked at Seneca County Recorders and Auditors offices. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society, Tiffin Kiwanis Club, Calvert Alumni Association, League of Women Voters, Y-Wives, Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassadors Club.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. The rosary will be recited at church 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or Seneca County Humane Society.
