Mary Ann Eberly

Mary Ann Eberly, 89, of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at Brookdale of Piqua Assisted Living.

She was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Seneca County, to the late Blacque and Pearl (Shuff) Hoffman. She married Bruce Eberly on Oct. 3, 1953, in Bascom, and he survives.

Mary Ann is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry (Valerie) Eberly of Tipp City and James (Donna) Eberly of Sidney, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy (Jim) Fletcher of Springfield, Ohio, and Jennifer (Marty) Sims of Powell; two sisters, Marjorie Koerper of Tiffin and Alice Lonsway of Findlay; 13 grandchildren, Ben, Drew, Lindsay, Angie, Tracie, Angie, Mike, Jessica, Rob, Joey, Amanda, Jeff, and Jason; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Eberly; great-grandson, Julian Sims; brother, Gene Hoffman; and sister, Carol Kuhlman.

Mary Ann graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School in 1951. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua. Mary Ann was a fabulous cook and seamstress. She liked gardening and traveling. Mary Ann especially loved to spend time with her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua, with the Rev. Fr. Steven Shoup as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua.
