Mary Frisch Obituary

Mary J. Frisch

Mary J. Frisch, 92 of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her home. She was born in New Riegel, to Frank and Adeline (Rogier) Tiell. This is where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She married Frank X. Frisch April 19, 1952, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown. He preceded her in death in 2009 after 57 years of marriage. They loved each other deeply – a love that was an example to and will be remembered by the legacy they built and are leaving behind.

Survivors include her nine children, Virginia Ridner of Tiffin, Ronald (Patty) Frisch of Tiffin, Joyce (John) Black of Tiffin, Sandie (Ray) Lease of Tiffin, Myron (Irene) Frisch of Bloomville, Roger Frisch of Tiffin, Beth (Douglas) Nichols of Republic, Larry (Paula) Frisch of Findlay, and Amy (Joseph) Snyder of Tiffin; 25 grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Ridner, Dean (Becky) Ridner, Greg Ridner, Sheena (Kevin) Meyer, Christopher Frisch, Michael Frisch, Josephine (Steve) Parsons, Janet (Nate) Parsons, Jillian (Dan) Shaferly, Jaclyn (Rush) Arbogast, Clint (Chelsea) Lease, Candace Lease, Ashley Frisch, Amber (Cody Boyd) Frisch, Tim (Danielle) Frisch, Kara (James) Boreman, Brittany Frisch, Katie Frisch, Kyle (Jessica) Frisch, Seth (Mary) Nichols, Cody (Jill) Nichols, Noah Nichols, Luke Snyder, and Elijah (Ava Yates) Snyder; and 33 great-grandchildren, Gaige, Lydia, Madisyn, Garrett, Hayden, Breyden, Braxton, Brooklyn, Bronson, Breighan, Isaac, Catherine, Magdalene, Xavier, Bryce, Brody, Brynn, Zayden, Daxton, Charlie, Livia, Lyla, Colson, Rylan, Atreyu, Cole, Killian, Emella, Karter, Wesley, Julia, Adelynn, and Levi.

Along with her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Agnes Ward, Ernest Tiell, Gerald Tiell, and Oleta Reinhart; son-in-law, Richard Ridner; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Frisch; and granddaughter, Maggie Frisch.

Alongside Frank, they were lifelong farmers in Seneca County. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing with Frank in the T-Squares. She was a member of TOPS for many years, where she kept a KOPS status. She enjoyed watching EWTN. She enjoyed gardening and shared the abundance with everyone. She was known for her pot pies, homemade cheesy noodles, and pies, especially fruit pies that she would bring to every family function. She wasn't one to share a recipe due to her unconventional measuring, but she loved to cook for others. She loved every family gathering from simple family meals to sacraments, all the celebrations, spontaneous stop-ins and visits after mass, and everything in between. Her family was her everything! And she will be deeply missed by many.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
