Mary Romig Obituary

Mary E. Romig

Mary E. Romig, 79, of rural Tiffin, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at home. She was born June 30, 1946, in Carey, to Raymond and Esther (Goshe) Kessler. She married Charles "Tony" Romig October 18, 1965, and he died August 24, 2016.

Surviving are the following children, Deb (Chuck) Malloy, Xenia, Kelly (Daniel) Coffman, Mansfield, Chris (Janet) Romig, Tiffin, Michelle (Ed) Heyob, Dublin, Ohio, and Nicole (fiancé Jason Keefe) Stull, Tiffin. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; plus three sisters, Rose Marie (George) Fox, Findlay, Alice McDermott, Sycamore, Virginia Trytko, Findlay; and three brothers, Don (Linda) Kessler, Delaware, Ohio, David (Cathy) Kessler, Johnstown, and Mike Kessler, rural Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; three brothers, Harold, Gerald, and Jim; infant brother, Richard; two sisters, Margie Ruppright and Patricia Wurm; and her parents.

Mary worked for over 30 years for Betty's White Glove Cleaning Service, Tiffin. She was a 1964 graduate of Mohawk High School and a 1965 graduate of Georgeann Hair Academy in Tiffin. She was a member of Tiffin United Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She also occasionally attended The Upper Room Tabernacle Church in Tiffin. She was a member of Allen Eiry Center, Seniors on the Go and a member of Silver Sneakers at Bodyworks.

She enjoyed painting at Artistic Accents in Tiffin and Stamp Camp, where she made greeting cards to send to family and friends. She also loved to make jewelry, do puzzles and have a rose garden.

Funeral services for Mary will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with Pastor Ava Nye officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at the funeral home prior to funeral service.

Memorial contribu-tions can be made to Heartland Hospice, Tiffin United Baptist Church or Seneca County Humane Society in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio 44882.
