Eldon D. Ross, 84, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Eldon was born on March 27, 1941 at home in LaMoille to Elmer and Irene (Portzen) Ross.
Eldon graduated from LaMoille High School in 1959 and worked for Haas farms until he was drafted by the United States Army in 1962. He served in Active Duty until 1965 and the Reserves until 1969.
Eldon married Marilyn J. Bell in Bayonne, New Jersey in 1965, returned to Illinois and started farming and raising cattle until 2007. He also was a carpenter, truck driver, and milk tester for the Illinois Dairy Association at various times. He served his community at the Greenfield Cemetery in LaMoille holding positions of caretaker, secretary and president. He worshipped his Lord at the Tiskilwa Bible Church.
Eldon is survived by his brother, Ronald (Jessie) Ross of Malden; children, David (Kendra) Ross of Princeton, Cynthia (David) Blumenstock of Kettering, Ohio, and Jonathan (Tricia) Ross of Malden; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Audrey Barlow of LaMoille.
Eldon was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, sister, Marilyn Goetz, and brother, Darwin Ross.
Memorials may be directed to the Tiskilwa Bible Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in the chapel of Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois. Interment will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. His family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are through The Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton.
