Mary Alice Wagner

Mary Alice (Zeis) Wagner, 99, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, 2022, at Randall Residence, Tiffin.

She was born July 2, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, to Estella Maude (Dice) and Floyd Zeis. She married Walter "Whitey" Wagner on May 20, 1950.

Survivors include four children, David (Lynne Etzkorn) Wagner of Shelby, Mary Beth (Al) Woods of Maumee, and Mark (Sally Snyder) Wagner and Alan (Brandy Budd) Wagner, both of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Wagner, Dan (Joy) Wagner, Alex (Andrea) Wagner, Katie (Josh) Johnston, Kyle (John)Sarver, Matt Wolcott, Joe (Trisha) Wagner, Gretchen (Sherman) Chester, Hanna Wagner, and Allison (Taylor) Woods; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Eileen Metzger, Rose Riester, and Phyllis Wagner.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Martha Ann (Zeis) Forrest; infant daughter, Alice; and infant granddaughter, Emma.

Mary Alice graduated from Columbian High School in 1941 and from Tiffin University. She raised her four children while helping with the family greenhouse business. She faithfully volunteered many years to various community organizations including Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, Betty Jane Volunteers, Seneca County Museum, and Trinity United Church of Christ. She was dedicated to her family, proud of her community, and enjoyed a wide circle of friends.

A private family service will be at Hoffman-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Tiffin.
