Matthew Paul Grimes

Matthew P. Grimes, 54, of Tiffin, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at his home.

Matt graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1987. While in school, he participated in wrestling and football. In his younger years, he attended Tiffin Harmony United Methodist Church.

Known to have a good sense of humor, Matt could be very funny. He could recall funny instances of situations and could do imitations of people like nobody's business. Having grown up in a close family, cousins remember Matt as being friendly and making friends easily, kindhearted, and family loving.

Matt is survived by a daughter, Brittany; son, Justin; two brothers, Tim and Mark Grimes; aunt, Glenna Walton; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a grandbaby on the way.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher; and brother, Tom Grimes.

There will be a memorial service for Matt at a later date.

Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting family with arrangements.
