Michael Daughenbaugh

Michael "Mike" Daughenbaugh, 60, of Republic, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 15, 1963, in Tiffin, to Charles and Lynda (Bowerman) Daughenbaugh, who survive in Republic.

Michael's survivors also include his wife, Gilda "Gigi" Daughenbaugh of Republic, whom he married June 10, 2017; daughter, Kennedy (Dave) Shane of Fremont; stepdaughter, Vivian Marcano of Tiffin; sister, Janine Moore of Tiffin; nephews, Reece (Emily Hart) Moore and Ashton Moore; great-niece, Maliyah Moore; stepnieces, Kyla Vega and Kiehra Moore; stepgreat-nieces, Hadassah Vega and Katalina Santos; stepgreat-nephew, Jonathan "JJ" Santos; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and fury, beloved sidekick, Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Bowerman, Florine (Bowerman) Funk, and Cletus and Helen Daughenbaugh; uncles, Robert and Raymond Daughenbaugh; and aunts, Geraldine Lenz, Debra Daughenbaugh, and Gloria Meyers.

Mike graduated from Seneca East High School in 1981 and Tiffin University in 1984. Mike was Vice President of Quick Tab II, Inc., in Tiffin. He was a member of Republic Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians, and San Francisco 49ers.

Mike bravely fought health issues for 25 years, never complaining and always upbeat. But his battle finally was defeated and he is now in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville. Mike's funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Charlene Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Farewell Retreat in Republic.

Memorial contributions may be made to Republic Trinity United Methodist Church.
