Michael Distel Obituary
Michael R. "Mike" Distel, 52, of Tiffin and Port Clinton, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 5, 2023, at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo.
He was born Nov. 6, 1970, in Tiffin, to Susan K. (Boyer) Distel and Michael P. Distel.
He is survived by a sister, Lee DuMond of Pickerington; two nephews, Zane and Noah (Caitlyn); niece, Kallan; uncle, Dave (Susan Hemminger) Boyer of Tiffin; and special friend, Heather Wilburn of Port Clinton.
Mike spent most of his adult life in Port Clinton and Middle Bass Island where he worked in maintenance and construction. He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1989. Over the years, Mike enjoyed his cats.
A private graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio, 1701 Holland Road, Maumee, Ohio, 43537, or Life Connections of Ohio, 3661 Briarfield Blvd. Unit 105, Maumee, Ohio, 43537.
The family would like to thank Mercy Health - St. Vincent Hospital, ICU doctors, respiratory therapists, and especially the nurses and staff that helped Mike.

I was very sad to hear about Mike´s passing. I´ll never forget how hard he always made me laugh. He was so much fun and such a good friend. I never knew someone who was so goofy and cool at the same time. Everyone liked him, I will miss my friend.

Very sad to hear of his passing. I was his neighbor on JeffersonSt in the 70s and 80s. We had many sleepovers, played in the dirt, climbed the trees in the back yard. So many fond memories that I can share. Too many to post. Let's just say I could write a book about our time growing up. I will miss him and will cherish those times we did have. Rest in peace my friend.

Mike was a friend that will never be forgotten. While life took us in different directions I'll never forget the good times we had growing up together. Snow forts, climbing trees, going to Mike's to play on the computer...all happy memories I'll treasure forever.
