Michael Gardner Obituary

Michael John Gardner, D.C.

Dr. Michael John Gardner, D.C., 78, of Tiffin, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Michael was born April 5, 1944, in Tiffin, to Louis and Louise Gardner.

Michael was the oldest of four children and is survived by his brother, Richard (Debra) Gardner of Columbus, Ohio, and two sisters, Janet Gardner of Toledo and Julie Boner of Tiffin.

He married Sandra Lynne (Cooper) Gardner on Jan. 28, 1966, in Holland, Michigan, and she survives.

Michael is also survived by four children, Michelle (Todd Papes) Kaye of Cincinnati, Patricia (Chris) Malone of Tiffin, David (Annette) Gardner of Tiffin, and Seth Gardner of Sarasota, Florida; five grandchildren, Zechariah, Chelsey, Logan, Alyssa, and Claire; and three great-granddaughters he was blessed with, Ellyse, Madison, and Everleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Benjamin.

Michael was a 1962 graduate of Calvert High School. He went on to become a successful chiropractor, graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1966. Michael retired from his chiropractic practice in March, 2014, after 48 years. He truly loved his job and all of his patients and never "worked" a day in his life.

He had a love of boats and he and his family spent many weekends on his boat, the "Sea Breeze," on Lake Erie. This love of boating gave way to becoming a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Lake Erie for many years. Being on the water on a boat was one of the things he loved most. After he retired, he became a HAMM radio operator and found many friends through his HAMM radio connections. Michael also served on the board of Legacy Credit Union. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Tiffin Kiwanis.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-3113. Michael's service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Deacon David Mileski officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery immediately following the service.

My sincere condolences on the passing of cousin Mike. So many memories of Christmas gatherings at the Gardner Coe Street residence. Mike was always the recipient of very "special" Christmas gifts! My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
