Milton E. Gibson

Milton E. Gibson, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria.

Milton was born April 23, 1937, in Tiffin, to the late Samuel Dee and Edith Mae (Martin) Gibson. He married Jeannette M. Lutz at St. Mary's Catholic Church February 20, 1960, and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include his children, Elizabeth (Jeff) Windau of Peachtree City, Georgia, Jacqueline (Larry) Kissing of Cincinnati, Sara (Rodney) Hicks of Prospect, Kentucky, Shawn (Debra) Gibson, of Tiffin, Kelly (Scott) Frank of Port Clinton, Toby Gibson, Jonathan (Ashley) Gibson and Joshua Gibson, all of Tiffin, 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a brother, David Gibson of Ohio.

Milton retired from Tiffin Developmental Center and previously worked at Basic Inc. and Sterling Enterprises. Milton was a man of many hobbies. He was a talented carpenter, amateur engineer, remodeler, outdoorsman, organic gardener, wine maker and beekeeper. He loved to fish, hunt, and be outside. In later years, he built a workshop in his backyard, a canoe, a cider press, a solar oven and a greenhouse.

Milton was a devout catholic and a longtime member of both St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church. He participated in Eucharistic Adoration at St. Joseph Church for many years.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Herbert Hunter; and his older brother, Samuel Gibson.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Good Shepherd Home for the great care they offered Milton during his stay with them.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will also be Thursday, from 9-9:45 a.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow services Thursday, at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Calvert Catholic Foundation or to St. Mary Catholic Church.
