Nancy Mae Ferguson

Nancy Mae Ferguson, 82, of Tiffin, passed away at 10:34 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital.

She was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Green Springs, to Neile and Frances (George) Sherman. She married George Ferguson in Jan. 1967, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Tiffin. He passed away in Nov., 1990.

Nancy's survivors include a son, Kevin (Stephanie) Ferguson of Manor, Texas; daughter, Jo Lynn (Jamie) Rhodes of Tiffin; and eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nathaniel, and Grace Ferguson, Larry Jacob and Evan Messer, and Taylor, Tess, and Blake Rhodes.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Sherman.

Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Columbian High School and attended The Ohio State University. She was the organist and choir director at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, later Faith United Methodist. She was also a homemaker and gave private piano lessons for many years. She played for countless weddings and most likely every church organ in Seneca County. She played for Trio Dance Studio, Cotillion Club, King Solomon Dance Band, Masonic Lodge, and Junior Home Annual Reunion Memorial Service for many years.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, until the time of Nancy's funeral at 11 a.m., all at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883 (419) 447-3113. The Rev. Jan Kucera will officiate and burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Nancy had a special place in her heart for the dogs in her life, Princess, Sparky, Jeepers, Iggy, and Chippy. Therefore, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Seneca County.
