Patricia Helkey-Burns Obituary
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Patricia Helkey-Burns, 78, passed Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, after her sixth battle with cancer.
She will be remembered for her caring and generosity. She was a strong fighter (beat cancer five times!) and woman of faith. She spent almost 30 years working as a legal secretary for Judge Thomas Spellerberg in Tiffin.
She then semi-retired to Florida, where she became a master diver and worked as a bartender. More recently, she relocated back to Ohio and spent as much time as possible with family and friends.
She is survived by two brothers, Rick Funk (Brenda) and Terry Funk (Janice); three children, Kathryn Beery (Bill), David Helkey (Catherine), and James Helkey (Ticia); four stepchildren, Kimli White (Rick), Neica Collen (Bruce), Wayne Burns, and Stephanie Wise (Shaun); 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Burns; and sister, Wanda Eberhart.
At Patricia's request, there will be no services, but Patricia's celebration of life will be 12-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at AMVETS Post 48 in Tiffin.

I worked with Pat for many years in the Courthouse. I always liked talking to her and listening to her advice. We used to call her Judge Burns!!!!! I'm so sorry for you loss. Many prayers to you all. Mary K. Ward
