Penny Jean Strong

Penny Jean Strong, 59, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

She was born Oct. 7, 1963, in Fremont, to Paul and Wyoma (Layton) Strong.

She is survived by her mother, Wyoma Strong; son, Daniel (Stephanie) Lowery; daughter, Valerie Cole; stepson, William North; other children she cared for, Ashley, Amanda, and Dominque Potter, and Joseph, Jedidiah, and James Morton; brother, Paul Strong Sr.; sisters, Linda Prater, Ellen Stoudinger, and Lavonne Dawson; and grandchildren, Xzavier, Xzaria, and Xzadrian.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Paul Strong; sister, Loretta Mathais; and brother, Calvin Strong.

Penny worked for COR Services where she showed a gift of working with developmentally disabled individuals. She also worked at Lowe's Distribution and a day care provider. She was a 1982 graduate of Lakota High School and was a lady of faith. Penny was known for never judging, accepting other as they were, and known as "Aunt Penny" to so many she cared for.

Penny's funeral will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Mark Self officiating. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
