Rayna Carol Dyer

Rayna Carol Dyer, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born July 12, 1943, in Fostoria, to Clarence and Cleris (Nichols) Smith. She first married Ralph Kelley and they later divorced. She then married George W. Dyer on April 14, 1967, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Edward and Pey-Sue Kelley of Perth, Australia, Joseph and Tami (Mankin) Kelley of Fostoria, and George and Stacy (Dyer) Filippello of Mishawaka, Larry and Becky (Keiffer) Dyer of Port Clinton, Lonny and Cori Dyer of Kentucky, Michael and Kathy (Baxter) Dyer of Fostoria, LuAnn Dyer and Marguirita Guzman of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Indiana; grandchildren, Destiny (Muir) Crisp, Tyler Kelley, Breanna (Kelley) Simon, Andy Dyer, Jacque Dyer, Brandon Keiffer, Stephanie Keiffer, Leonard Dyer, Derek Dyer, Mike Dyer, Adam Dyer, Jessica Dyer, Lacey Mankin, Jacob Ginnever, Orlando Martinez, Marcus Edward (Eddie) Millie, Jake Millie, Maxx Millie, Joseph V. Filippello, Daniel and Lisa (Gibson) Filippello, and Michael J. Filippello; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, George William Dyer; parents, Clarence and Cleris (Nichols) Smith; brothers, Willliam (Bill) Smith and Randall Nichols Smith; sisters, Susan (Smith) Hines and Patricia Kelley; son, Michael Allen Dyer; and grandchildren, Edward (Eddie) Millie and Michael J. Filippello.

Rayna worked at RCA and at the front desk at Fostoria YMCA. She was a 1961 graduate of Fostoria High School and member of Fostoria Assembly of God. Rayna loved to travel & would drive anywhere, a card ride, a train, a boat ride or a plane everything & everyday was an adventure. She visited Jerusalem and Australia twice. She loved working at the YMCA, lunches with the Young at Heart group & her classmates, crafts & stained-glass projects. She was very warm & welcoming & a mom/grandma to many. She loved to sing, whether at church, in the car or to wake you up in the morning.

Rayna's funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Jerry Copeland officiating. Burial will take place at Fountain Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 12-4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
