Rebecca "Reba" M. Lautermilch
Rebecca "Reba" M. Lautermilch, 88, of Findlay and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 3:44 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Reba was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Dwight and Cleofa (Wylie) Morris, and they preceded her in death. She married Dr. Thomas H. Lautermilch on July 25, 1959, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Dayton, and he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2019.
Reba is survived by three children, Joel Lautermilch of South Lyon, Michigan, Lisa Lautermilch of Findlay, and Tim (Barb) Lautermilch of Akron; and two grandchildren, Cole and Lauren Lautermilch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four siblings, Kathryn Gilbert, Hugh Morris, Wilma Moore, and Earl Morris.
Reba graduated from Hamilton High School, class of 1951. She went on to attend The Ohio State University where she received her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, and also a bachelor's in education.
After graduating, Reba worked as a dental hygienist for a few years before her children were born. Then, she started teaching at St. Peter's Catholic School in Upper Sandusky and St. Mary's in Kirby. She also taught at Nevada Elementary School and then for HHWP Head Start Program. Reba returned to dental hygiene in Upper Sandusky later in her career.
She was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky. She was also active at one time with Usando Literary Club, Bridge Club, Welcome Wagon, and The Ohio State Alumni Association.
For hobbies, she enjoyed playing cards, reading, and had a heart for others. She enjoyed connecting with old friends and making new ones, for she never knew a stranger. Reba was a devoted OSU Buckeyes sports fan and enjoyed cheering for her hometown Cincinnati Reds.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with a 7:45 p.m. scripture service.
