Rita M. Schwab

Rita Mae Schwab, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, June 18, 2025, at St. Francis Home.

She was born in Tiffin February 4, 1947, to Frank and Philomena (Colatruglio) Longo. On October 23, 1971, she married Edward J. Schwab II.

Rita is survived by her children, Angela (Erik) Belcher of Napoleon and Edward "Rocco" Schwab of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Evan, Aricka, Averie, Bryce, Blaine, and Maddox. She and Ed were proud godparents to Nikki Hills of Tiffin, Dani Maxwell of Monroe, Michigan, Mary McDermont, Brooke Dixon, and Billy Krzyzak, all of Tiffin. They also were "adopted parents" to Shawn Stinchcomb of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by two sisters, Constance Archer and Rose Marie Mangus, both of Tiffin.

In addition to her husband, Ed, and her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Leonard Longo; sisters, Sister Marianne, RSM/C, Joanna Elchert, and Carol Jean Longo.

Rita was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1965 graduate of Calvert High School. She was a great baker, loved family pie day, and collecting purses. She was close with her sisters and loved her grandchildren and attending their activities. Rita welcomed anybody into her home.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:30-11:30 a.m.Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Her Funeral Mass will be at noon Thursday, June 26, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. Burial will follow at parish cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Calvert High School.
