Rose M. Schank

Rose M. Schank, 85, of Sycamore, died at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Hospice of Western Reserve, Cleveland. She was born January 14. 1941, in Carey, to Ralph and Mildred (Niederkohr) Arend. She married Marion Schank, and they later divorced.

Surviving are the following children, Bob (Cindy) Schank, Twinsburg, Anita (David) Poole, Willard, and Dale Schank, Wise, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Austin Schank, Britney Collins, Kaitlyn Poole, Nick Schank, Cierra Lewis, Kelsey Poole, Rachel Ritner and Emilee Schank; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Donna Daniel, Tiffin, Betty Mathias, New Riegel, and Carol Swinehart, Upper Sandusky; a brother, Ronald Arend, Carey; a sister-in-law, Marie Arend, Tiffin, and a brother-in-law, Don Jesko, Carey.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Carl Schank, in 1986, and Ed Schank, September 9, 2025; a brother, Robert Aurand; and two sisters, Mary Wise and Jeanette Jesko.

Rose was a homemaker, worked 12 years at Budd Company, Carey, worked at the former Riverview Inn, Tiffin, and Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville. She was a 1959 graduate of Carey High School.

Rose was a 60 year member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore and a member of their Friday Rosary Group. For hobbies, she loved her yellow roses and caring for her garden. She loved to play UNO and was considered the family champion. She also liked to put puzzles together and collect Elvis Presley memorabilia and his music.

Funeral service for Rose will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, with the Rev. Matt Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.
