Samuel Gray Ickes Jr.

Samuel Gray Ickes Jr., 21, of Fremont, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Marblehead.

He was born Oct. 10, 2001, in Rosedale, Maryland, to Samuel and Kimberly Ickes.

He is survived by his father, Samuel (Linda) Ickes Sr. of Findlay; mother, Kimberly (Phil Chapman) Ickes of Tiffin; girlfriend, McKenzie Bryant of Fremont; children, Cohen and Kaisley Ickes; siblings, Andrew, Gracie Ickes, and Chris Brown; paternal grandparents, Chris Ickes of Bettsville and Mary Ickes of Tiffin, and Deborah "Granny" Yancey; maternal grandparents, Glen (Sandra) Miller of Maryland and John (Robin) Goeller of Edgemere; mother-in-law, LaRae Bryant; sister-in-law, Morgan Harris; and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donovan Ickes.

Samuel was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church and 2020 graduate of Old Fort High School. Samuel worked in building trades at Sentinel and was a contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on anything mechanical. He was known for always helping others.

Samuel's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at First Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria, with Pastor Isaac Clark officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery, near Bettsville.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. A time of visitation and signing of the casket will take place prior to services from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
