Sarah J. Maistros

Sarah Jane Maistros, 56, of Flat Rock, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her home at Flat Rock Care Center.

She was born February 7, 1969, to John A. and Sandra J. Maistros.

Sarah is survived by her brother, Michael (Sharon) Maistros of Xenia, sisters, Susan (Gary) Larsen, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Rebecca (Mark) Nelson of Bowling Green; three nephews; four nieces; two great nephews; and a great niece.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Andrew Maistros.

Sarah grew up in Tiffin, where she enjoyed being outdoors. She liked riding a bike, jumping on the trampoline, swinging, and swimming. She enjoyed meeting new people everywhere she went. She loved telling jokes and could get anyone laughing. Sarah attended School of Opportunity, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader for Seneca Arrows. Sarah also participated in Special Olympics. She played volleyball, basketball, and participated in track. She graduated in 1991 from School of Opportunity.

Sarah moved to Flat Rock Care Center around that time. In no time at all, it felt like home. Sarah enjoyed living there, making friends, and participating in lots of activities over the years. She was involved in Aktion Club through Kiwanis and she was a member of Residents Rights Committee of Flat Rock. Sarah always looked forward to annual events, including Race at the Rock and Night to Shine. She enjoyed going to work, shopping, getting her hair cut, drinking pop, cracking jokes with friends, and the Ohio State Buckeyes (especially their sweatshirts). In nice weather, Sarah enjoyed sitting in the sunshine in her summer hats. Sarah had an infectious personality and a zest for life.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Chaplain Lee Stull officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with family from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
