Shannon R. Leahy

Shannon R. Leahy passed peacefully at her residence in Lincolnwood, Illinois, Friday morning, February 14, 2025. Shannon was a 1964 graduate of Calvert High School and graduated from St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana, in 1968. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she first taught English at Mother Guerin High School. Shannon earned her master's in social work and

worked for Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS), first as a social worker, then as a case manager until she retired.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Elizabeth C. Leahy; her brothers, Patrick, Daniel, and Timothy Leahy; her sister, Susan Aller; and brother-in-law, David Aller.

She is survived by three sisters, Colleen Leahy (Jack Callahan), Terri Kline (Robert) and Molly Leahy (James Rogan). Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Kelly Leahy, Maureen Hunter (Joseph), Kevin Leahy (Shaunna), Erin Leahy, John Aller (Missy), Michael Aller, Heidi Pattison (Matthew) and Brie Callahan (Jeremy Karpen); alongside 20 great-nieces and nephews and a great-great-niece.

Shannon will be missed by her family and a wide circle of friends; her family would especially like to thank Kathy Bilbo and her family for their years of devoted friendship and care.

A celebration of Shannon's life will be in Tiffin in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tiffin Development Center or Seneca County Opportunity Center in honor of Shannon and her beloved brother, Tim.
