Shirley Bird Obituary
Shirley A. Bird, 72, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Shirley was born Jan. 23, 1951, in Fostoria, to Carl and Mary (Carter) Cardwell. She married William Bird on June 26, 1977, in Tiffin, and he survives in Tiffin.
Shirley's survivors also include her children, Ronald Cardwell of Tiffin, Richard Drew of Upper Sandusky, Willa Thomas of Findlay, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Montoney of Willard; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Shirley worked as press operator at Toledo Molding and Dye for many years. She valued her time spent with family, spoiling her beloved grandchildren Andrew and Maddie, playing games, reading, and traveling to the beach.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Phillip and Anthony Cardwell; two sisters, Carol Coleman and Linda Holcomb; and niece, Sissy Holcomb.
Shirley's memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society or F.A.C.T.
