Shirley Ann Dixon

Shirley Ann Dixon, 87, of Fostoria, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green.

She was born June 13, 1936, in Fostoria. Her mother, Helen Maude (Layton) Beach-Shaffer, is deceased. She married Harlowe L. Dixon in Fostoria and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Francine Ann Cavey of Paris, Tennessee, and Evelyn Marie Dixon-Gonzales of Fostoria; grandchildren, Candace Dixon, Christina Augsburger, Gabe Dixon, Ashley Dixon, Dawna Knisely, Margaret Miracle, Brandi Kerg, Crystal Roush, Bobby Cavey, Jessica Thomas, Rachel Ward, Rebecca Hall, Maria Gonzales, Kimberly Gonzales, Lisa Gonzales, and Tony Gonzales Jr.; 44 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; half brother, Michael (Christina) Shaffer of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews including Brenda Durbin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Harrold L. Dixon (2021); grandson, Ricky Cavey; stepfather, Frank Shaffer; brothers, Richard Beach and little brother Larry Beach; and sister, Barbara Lee Geren.

Shirley retired from Riegel Foods, New Riegel, after 30 years of service. She attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a current member of New Beginnings, Pentecostal Church, Fostoria.

Shirley loved the Lord. She was loyal and a woman of faith. She enjoyed crocheting, her family, and the simple things in life.

Shirley's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home.

I'm so sorry for missing this. Aunt Shirley is part of my family I so so sorry for your family losing her I had Harold and I didn't even know she was in hospice. I know it's hard. I have stopped so many times and I couldn't see anyone.
