Shirley A. Shreiner

Shirley A. Schreiner, 82, of Republic, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Bridge Hospice in Findlay, surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born March 13, 1943, in Tiffin, to the late Wayne and Mary (Slack) Shafferly. She married Allan B. Schreiner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin November 4, 1967, and he survives in Republic.

Other survivors include her children, Mark Schreiner of Tiffin, Michael Schreiner of Republic, and Mary Lyman of Tiffin; grandson, Russell Lyman; sister, Bonnie (Mike) Oberlander of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley worked in office administration for Mercy Hospital for 35 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. Shirley was a devoted farmer's wife and Catholic. During her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and canning anything she could. She also enjoyed her Stamp Camp cardmaking. After Shirley retired, she was able to travel to all her favorite places, like Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and Shipshewana. As a loving mother, her most cherished times were spent with her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Shafferly; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Shafferly.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bridge Hospice in Findlay, Willows Community Care Centers, Elmwood Assisted Living, and Fr. Poggeymeyer of St. Wendelin, who blessed Shirley with her Last Rights.

Rosary service for Shirley will begin at 2:30 p.m. with visitation for family and friends from 3-7 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Memorial service for Shirley will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Gaspar Del Buffalo Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery in Attica. Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting family with their arrangements.
