Shirley Ann Theis

Shirley Ann Theis, 84, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Willows of Tiffin.

Shirley was born March 3, 1939, in Toledo, to Donald Raymond and Dorothy Mae (Spouse) Morris. She married Richard Theis on March 2, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, and he died Feb. 27, 2000.

Shirley's survivors include her children, Mark (Deb) Theis of Port Charlotte, Florida, Melissa (Ron) Kramer of Tiffin, Michael (Carol) Theis of Republic, and Richard (Connie) Theis of Findlay; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and brother, Michael Morris of Northville, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Don "Gus" Morris.

Shirley was a 1957 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Fremont, and attended Tiffin University. She kept the books for Theis Construction, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and helped run the pop stand for the Boy Scouts at the fair for many years. Shirley volunteered at St. Francis Alzheimer's Unit for eight years and worked in the St. Mary Church gardens for 10 years. She decorated the church for Christmas and Easter for many years and served on the remodeling committee at St. Mary Catholic Church. She also owned Secrets Restaurant and The Civic Center. She enjoyed winning at euchre and trivial pursuit, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed time with family and friends. Shirley was also a huge fan of The Ohio State University and Elvis Presley.

Visitation for family and friends will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. The Rosary will be recited at the church 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
