Stacy Rummel Obituary

Stacy Rummel
Born: May 8, 1959 in Savanna, IL
Died: April 3, 2025 in Sterling, IL
Stacy Ellen Rummel passed away on April 3rd, 2025, and is now resting with Jesus, seeing, walking and talking in ways she could never do in this life.
Stacy was born in Savanna, IL, on May 8, 1959, to Benjamin and Mildred Rummel. Though intellectually and physically disabled, she was very cheerful, always saying "Hi" to everyone she met. She loved music, especially Christmas songs and Santa, cats, her dog Charlie and her family. Those who came in contact with her were truly touched by her joyfulness.
Stacy was deeply loved by her mom and dad who went before her into Paradise and by her three surviving sisters, Paula Howlett and Cheryl Ross, both DeKalb, IL and Carolyn (Jim) Gephart of Scales Mound, IL. She will also be missed by her 2 nephews, James (Emily) Gephart of Goshen, IN, Brian (Ashley) Gephart of Asbury, IA, and a niece, Kat (Kyle) Schnorr, of DeKalb, IL, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Stacy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, David Ross and a niece, Kristy Ross.
The family would like to thank Opportunity House in DeKalb/Sycamore for providing a wonderful living environment for her for over 30 years, and Cornerstone Special Care in Sterling, IL, for loving and caring for her with amazing dedication over the last years of her life. Finally, we wish to express our thanks to the staff of the Critical Care Unit of CGH Medical Center in Sterling, for the compassionate end-of-life care Stacy received during her final days on earth.
Memorials for Stacy may be given to Cornerstone Special Care Foundation, 2601 Woodlawn Road, Sterling, IL 61081.
A private graveside service and celebration of Stacy's life will be held on a later date.
