Deepest sympathies to the Sattler family. I can remember Steve from grandpa Skufca´s for as long as I can remember. Always smiling and laughing. A part of my childhood gone... So sad... Love to all... Respectfully, Jodi Lewis Babcock

Oh my! This makes me so sad to hear. What a gentle and humorous man always considerate of others.

Steve was my friend from the first grade and the first day of school at Clinton Elementary School. It was a country school and we only had about 20 in our age group at every grade level. We were very close to each other. After graduating 8 years later, our little class went in 4 different directions because the Board of Education had decided not to add a high school but would pay for the tuition to another high school for us to continue our education. So some went to Tiffin Columbian High School (the public school), some to Calvert High School (the Catholic school), some to Old Fort High School (the vocational and academic school) and one to Republic High School because he lived across the road from that district.
Over the years, I did not see these friends very often. But in 2014, Steve and our friend Lee Reed, called the class together. We met and took up conversations as if it were 1954 and we were still at Clinton Elementary School.
Rest in Peace, Steve. Until we meet again.
