Steven L. England

Steven L. England, 72, of Republic, passed away Friday afternoon, March 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born April 8, 1950, in Fremont, to Harold L. "Doggie" and Mary E. (Church) England. He married Diane M. Phillips on Dec. 24, 1970.

Steve's survivors include his wife, Diane of Republic; son, Gary (Lisa) England of Bloomville; three daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Crosby of Tiffin, Erika (Josh) Beckman of Republic, and Marsha (Steve) Swiger of Bellevue; two brothers, Ronald England of Fremont and Richard England of Tiffin; sister, Gloria (Birchard) Valentic of Berwick; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Linda Wilcox, Judy Stockdale, Pamela Harrison, and Martha Burd.

Steve was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served in U.S.M.C. from 1969-1971. He worked at Columbus Showcase, Bellevue, for years and was a mason most of his life. He enjoyed fishing anywhere he could, hunting, camping around the area, especially East Harbor State Park, and being outside with nature. Most of all, he loved his family, being at home, and family get togethers.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors by Seneca County United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin.
