Steven Whitman Obituary
Steven Lee Whitman, 74, of Arcadia, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at Independence House, Fostoria.
He was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Fostoria, to James A. and Mary (Shultz) Whitman. He married Margaret "Peg" Holman on Aug. 27, 1971, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Whitman; wife, Margaret "Peg" Whitman of Arcadia; children, Joshua Whitman of Oklahoma, Jeremy (Madelynn) Whitman of Findlay, and Stephanie (David) McCarty of Fostoria; sisters, Jennifer (Robert) Mortimer of Fostoria and Beth (Danny) Montgomery of Shelby; and grandchildren, Sarah, Collin, Madison, McKenzie, Parker, and Deacon.
Steve was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Ray and Sylvia (Might) Whitman and Leroy and Mary (Crone) Shultz; and brother, Michael Whitman.
Steve retired in 1998 from Honeywell after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and attended Bowling Green State University and Terra Tech. Steven was a U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam. He was also star route contractor for United States Post Office.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Amy Kinney officiating. Military honors will be conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society.
