Sue Emmons departed this earth for her heavenly residence, passing peacefully Saturday morning, Oct. 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Sue was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Tiffin, to Donald and Bernadine Koby Shelt.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Peter W. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; younger brother, Patrick "Pat" Shelt; sister, Judy Shelt Beard; and brother- and sister-in-law, Stephen and Lois Emmons, and their son, Eric Emmons.

Born and raised in Tiffin, she was a 1961 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School where she was a cheerleader. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, where she and Peter were married. The two met at a Special Olympics basketball game which he was coaching. Both were members of Seneca Council for Exceptional Children.

Sue also resided in Wilmington, Delaware; Huber Heights; Sterling Heights, Michigan, and most recently, Marysville. In Michigan, she was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

As a resident of Marysville the past 17 years, she was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and assisted her husband in countless community service projects, including the Mill Valley Neighborhood Watch and Rotary Club of Marysville. She was a devoted family member and neighborly friend who spread happiness to all she was involved with.

Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at Underwood Funeral Home, Marysville.
