Sylvia Tyree
Sylvia Gayle (Lovins) Tyree, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at home surrounded by family. She will be greatly missed by the numerous family and friends who were blessed to have a multitude of memories with her over the years.
Sylvia was born May 7, 1941, to Delbert and Ruth (Dotson) Lovins in Monroeville. She had two sisters, Virginia Abbott and the late Carole Keim, and one brother, Hal Lovins. She graduated from Old Fort High School and spent years working in various factories and janitorial positions before retiring. She married Edward Tyree, who preceded her in death in April 2002.
Sylvia was a very strong, determined woman. She loved spending time with her family, especially her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening as well as time inside cooking and baking. She loved her Friday night high school football games, whether watching in person or listening on the radio. She was also a huge fan of Elvis and enjoyed the regular can of Coke as well as her daily powdered doughnut breakfast. She also adored her many canine companions over the years, including her current dachshund, Courtney.
She was always kind and willing to help others in need. She exemplified what it meant to work hard as well as prioritize time with those she loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She taught many how to be a good, compassionate human being while also balancing being strong and independent. Her home was one full of love, guidance, laughter, and comfort to all who dropped by.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carole Keim, husband, Edward, grandson, Douglas Biddle, and granddaughters, Emily and Arika Heyman.
Sylvia is survived by her four children, Thomas Biddle, Keith (Jeanette) Bigley, Lori (Barry) Heyman, and Jennifer (Pete) Reinhart.
