Thelma Lynn Field

Thelma Lynn Field, 105, of Tiffin, died at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022.

She was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Fremont, to Herman and Jennie (Murray) Parlow. She married Eugene I. Field of Tiffin, on June 29, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Wayt of Marion; son, Alan Field of Sandusky; grandchildren, Dee (Lane) Hempfield of Marion, Amanda (Jim) Florance of Sandusky, Chad (Leslie) Watson of Bloomville, and Kassandra Huett of Sandusky; and great-grandchildren, Weston (Tamara) Hempfield, Caleb and Ariel Watson, Thomas Ternes, Seth and Breanna Florance, and Nicholas and Nathaniel Huett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Lillian Myers and Helen Devore; and brothers, Merton Parlow, Leland Parlow, Dale Parlow, and five-day old baby brother, Herman Lee Parlow.

Thelma was a 1935 graduate of Fremont Ross High and was an assistant dietitian at Fremont Memorial Hospital prior to her marriage to Eugene. She and Gene spent many winters in Florida and she loved to hunt, fish, golf, and bowl. They always had a large garden.

There will be no visitation. Private family burial will be at a later date at Seneca Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local cancer organization in Tiffin, FACT, or charity of the donors' choice.
