Thomas M. Emerson

Thomas M. Emerson, 89, of Tiffin, and formerly of Centerville and Sidney, passed away Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital.

Thomas was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Bloomville, to the late William R. and Helen R. (Smith) Emerson. He married Inez Weisenberger on May18, 1968, in Trotwood, and she survives in Tiffin.

Thomas' other survivors include a son, Robert (Lisa) Emerson of Springboro; three daughters, Sharon (James) Lappin of North Ridgeville, Lisa (Doug) Snyder of Bucyrus, and Lynne (Don) Geary of Tiffin; stepdaughter, Kimberly Cooper of Alvaton, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, David W. (Moonyeen) Emerson of Indio, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert R.; sister, Reba French; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Thomas worked as a certified real estate appraiser and real estate broker for a great number of years in the Centerville and Sidney areas. He was a 1952 graduate of Bloom Twp. High School, member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin, and member of Fraternal of Order Police, Dayton. He enjoyed going camping and was a member of Good Sam's RV Club. He also obtained his airplane pilot's license and loved his cars and reading Poplar Mechanics magazine.

Thomas' services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville, with the Rev. Karsten Snitker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12-1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
