Thomas Hoffman Obituary
Tom C. Hoffman, formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Tiffin. He was born May 24, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to George H. and Elsie (Herget) Hoffman. Tom spent much of his childhood in Birmingham, Alabama, before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with his parents. In 2017, he relocated to Tiffin to support his spouse's career. Tom graduated from John Marshall High School and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He was a talented architect/designer and residential/commercial designer, founding Tom Hoffman Design in 2000.
His spouse survives Tom, Peter J. Holbrook, Ph.D., of Tiffin; and his cherished Westies, Oliver and Winston. He is also survived by his sister, Gail (John) Kahlich of Whittenberg, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Kirchberg of Columbus, Wisconsin, Sara Behr of Plymouth, Wisconsin and Barbara (Katherine) Holbrook of Janesville, Wisconsin; and brother-in-law, Russ (Judy) Holbrook of Downers Grove, Illinois. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews from the Holbrook family. He was an honorary 'Papi' to Sara (David) Sortino of Mequon, Wisconsin, and his grandchildren James and Julia; Rachael (Brad) Jackson of Mequon, Wisconsin, and their grandchildren, Lillian, Cyril, and Lorraine.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susan Hoffman; father and mother-in-law, John (Ethel Ubbelohde) Holbrook; and brothers-in-law, William Kirchberg and Arno (Larry) Behr.
A celebration of life will be at a later date at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
A final farewell and memorial service for Wisconsin family and friends will be at a later date in Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Milwaukee, with committal at Immanuel Columbarium.
Memorials may be made to Tiffin University to support the Holbrook/Hoffman Scholarship Fund, Tiffin Community Kitchen/Old Trinity Episcopal Church in Tiffin, OH, and Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee, WI.
Tom and Pete would like to thank the staff at The Shawhan and the compassionate hospice care provided by Southern Care.

Peter, I am saddened to hear of Tom's passing. I have enjoyed having you as often as both of you could at The Turntable. I took a very strong liking to Tom. He and I could always spark a laugh. Prayers for his transition to his next life. My prayers are also with you as you navigate through.
