Thomas R. Kipps

Thomas R. Kipps, 82, of Fremont, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born August 20, 1943, in Tiffin, the son of Betty Jane (Finch) and William Weber. He was a proud 1962 graduate of Bettsville High School and served his country in the United States Air Force until receiving an honorable medical discharge.

On March 28, 1996, Tom married Sharon Kroeger in Indiana, and she survives. He spent much of his career as an isostatic press operator, beginning in 1965 at Ford Motor Company, which later became Allied Signal in Fostoria. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired in 1995. In retirement, Tom remained active through part-time work at Friendship Stores in Fremont and Bettsville and at East Harbor State Park.

Tom had a kind heart and a deep appreciation for life's simple joys. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Dolphins fan, and he loved spending time with his dogs and cats. He enjoyed grilling, riding motorcycles, working with wood, and solving word puzzles. He valued his community and was a proud member of Bettsville American Legion.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon Kipps of Fremont; his son, Thomas Kipps II of Bettsville; stepchildren, Milynda Binder of Fremont, Todd (Kristie) Binder of Monroe, Michigan, and Kendall Binder of Denver, Colorado; sister, Peg Tiell of Fremont; grandchildren, Thomas (Emilee) Kipps III, Tasha (Calvin) Miller, Danielle (Trent) McMurray, and Dan (Samantha) Flory IV; stepgrandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Scherger, Victoria Humberger, Brandon (Angel) Binder, Seth Binder, Blake Mullins, and Hayley (Cyle) Faust; great-grandson, Franklin L. Kipps; and many stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lori Annette Flory.

Graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde. A celebration of Tom's life will follow at the residence of Sharon Kipps in Fremont. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Tom's honor to Heartland Hospice or Humane Society of Sandusky County.
